A little history of the Texas Baptist Orphanage at Waxahachie:
Baptist Missionary Association Annual Meetings:
1910 - The trustees, who had been selected for the orphanage, reported they had found a location at Waxahachie, and they had a charter ready to start the home.
1911- The building proposed for the orphanage was to have 46 rooms and was to cost about $32,000. The first wing of the building was to be started immediately and was to be built of brick. From 500 to 1,000 bricks were donated by churches and individuals.
