Mount Pleasant, April 2,  Died last night at 10:30. Mrs. S. A. Christian of pneumonia.  She was one of the wealthiest and oldest citizens of this place.  Her remains will be interred in the family cemetery tomorrow evening at 3 o'clock.

Paris, April 17,  Since Boarman's famous decision invalidating white marriages in the Nation, not only have the runaway Texas couples, become scarce going there, but resident Americans (white) now come to Texas in order to be certain of the knot's holding power.  Yesterday two couples; George McKee and Elizabeth Vaught, William Douglass and Mary Williams were married in the clerk's office by magistrate Hunt. (Brenda's note:  They are referring to the Indian Nation - Oklahoma).

Bivens, April 18,  Mr. Oliver Blanchard died of typhoid fever here yesterday.

Taylor, April 18,  George Hugh died on the 16th, aged eighteen months.
Paris, April 18,  Mrs. Sallie Thompson, living near Biardstown, died last Thursday.  She had been partially paralyzed for a long time.  About a month ago she fell and broke her thigh, and being very fleshy and heavy the bones could not be kept in place.

Mrs. J. N. Bartholow died last night of cancer of the stomach.
Mrs. Ella Benton, Groveton, April ??.
William Bierge, nephew of Capt. Bierge, was brought from Belcherville and interred here to-day.  He leaves a young wife and several children.
Belden, April 19,  Mr. J. F. Buchanan, our justice of the peace, died this morning after a long spell of sickness.  He was a good citizen and good officer.  He leaves a wife and two grown children.
Mrs. W. H. Caldwell, Wolfe City, April 14.
Sherman, April 20,  Miss Fannie Hamblin, one of Sherman's fairest young ladies, died of pneumonia to-day.  The father of the deceased is absent somewhere in the state on business but his whereabouts is not known.
Comanche, April 17,  Dr. F. T. Paine, for twelve years one of the resident physicians of Comanche, died yesterday, aged seventy-seven years.  His remains were followed to the cemetery to-day by a large concourse of friends and relatives, which attested his universal popularity and the unanimous verdict is that a good man is gone.

Marshall, April 20.  Little Frank, aged twenty months, son of Alderman and Mrs. Gavin Young, died at the family residence Saturday night and was buried yesterday.

Overton, April 23, S. S. Irwin, an old Texas, after a protracted sickness, died this morning.
Hamilton, April 23, John Rhodes, (Uncle Johnny) 104 years of age, for many years a resident of this county, died and was buried at Pottsville, twelve miles from here last Sunday.  Uncle Johnny had been a Mason a long time.  Most of the members of Hamilton lodge went to participate in the funeral.  Owing to the downpour of rain all day, the Masons could not have any ceremonies.
